Building Multilingual Websites

By Sarah Chen 6 min read

Building a website that speaks to a global audience requires robust multilingual support. iBNSoft CMS makes it straightforward to manage content across multiple languages.

Setting Up Languages

In the administration panel, navigate to Settings and Languages to add your target languages. iBNSoft CMS supports over 50 languages out of the box.

Creating Translated Content

Once languages are configured, you can create translated versions of any page. The CMS maintains a separate document version for each culture, ensuring clean content separation.

URL Routing

Configure culture-specific URL prefixes (e.g., /zh-CN/ for Chinese, /de/ for German) or use separate domains per language. The routing engine handles culture detection automatically.

Translation Workflow

Use the built-in translation workflow to track which pages need translation, assign translators, and manage the review process. Integration with external translation services is also supported.

Best Practices

  • Start with your primary language and expand gradually
  • Use content linking to keep translations synchronized
  • Leverage the translation memory feature for consistency
  • Test RTL languages separately if applicable
